Taimoana Meuli
Working in the sculpture realms for 28 years Taimoana says his inspiration comes from the importance he places on connecting with nature, and valuing and respecting the physical environment, it is humbling and gratifying to shape and redefine stone, metals, wood and Pounamu captivating its natural beauty while allowing these materials to speak.
Lucretia Bird
Born in Waikato, a mother of five, a passionate grower of food, in 2009 Lucretia was an artist at Matatmata sculpture symposium, introduced to large scale Hinuera stone sculpture, she went on to Achieve a diploma In Māori art at Te Wananga O Aotearoa 2010, in 2015 she completed a Bachelor in Media art at Wintec during this time she found a special love of sculptural portraiture and continued on to teach level 3 painting and sculpture at Wintec in the same year. After a rather long break to raise her family Lucretia recently had an amazing opportunity being introduced into the world of hard-stone at the Thames 2024 Ngakau sculpture symposium and endeavours to traverse the vast landscape of hard stone portraiture.
