BENJAMIN GRANT FURNITURE

Based in Whaingaroa Raglan, Benjamin Grant is a designer and maker specializing in sculptural and functional furniture. With a deep appreciation for the natural forms and textures found in wood, his work explores the relationship between materiality and human interaction. Each piece reflects a commitment to craftsmanship, balancing aesthetics with practicality.

Benjamin is a part-time teacher at the Centre for Fine Woodworking in Nelson and was recently awarded funding from Creative NZ’s Early Career Fund to attend the prestigious Yuri Kobayashi & David Haig Artist in Residence Programme. This opportunity continues to inform his evolving practice, encouraging experimentation and refined technique.

In addition to his artistic practice, Benjamin runs Wood Works Raglan, a cabinetmaking business specializing in custom kitchens and home furniture. His personal design venture, Benjamin Grant Furniture, reflects his creative vision and exploration.

This year, Benjamin is excited to showcase his unique creations at THE HUT, RANGATAHI during the Raglan Arts Weekend.
