RUTH HICKMAN-GOODALL
Ruth’s work explores the tension and harmony between the organic and the constructed. She brings together two distinct visual languages—fluid acrylic gestures and the disciplined precision of wrapped thread—to examine how opposing forces can coexist within a single surface.
By placing these elements side by side, Ruth examines how softness meets rigidity, how emotion meets logic, and how the handmade can hold both chaos and control. The work becomes a conversation between two modes of making – one intuitive, one deliberate – reflecting the dualities that shape both the natural world and our inner lives.
Ruth has exhibited in the Waikato, Auckland and Melbourne.
