ROSS THORNTON JONES
Ross Thornton Jones started painting after an injury took his focus away from the ocean and created an opportunity to find a new passion.
Today, painting is his main focus and the thing he enjoys more than almost anything else. Using bright colours to stir the mind into what may be light or dark subject matter, the main goal of his work is to encourage the viewer to engross themselves in the colours and shapes that make up his paintings.
“The process from start to finish always keeps me excited to paint more, and knowing when a painting is complete is something that always fascinates me and keeps me guessing. I am happiest when I’m moving paint around on canvas; I find the colour and thickness of the paint hypnotic and it allows me to paint from the gut.”
