REFORMATION STUDIOS
David (Dave) Hearth – Co-Founder of Reformation Studios
Dave is a true craftsman who has had a varied career as a mechanical engineer, builder, entrepreneur, and passionate ‘maker of things’. He has a love for aesthetics; working with a wide range of materials and creating beautiful spaces. After gaining his Masters in 3D printing specialising in composite materials, Reformation Studios is his dream project come true. He’s now able to help ‘empower the artist’s way’; utilising unique large-scale 3D printing technology to collaborate with craftspeople, designers, and sculptors – making complex forms that wouldn’t be possible any other way. Every item is made to last, but if at some point they’re longer needed, he will take them back and make sure they’re recycled into something new & beautiful. His philosophy is zero-waste, maximum beauty.
Thomas (Tom) Doig – Co-Founder of Reformation Studios
Tom is a creative problem solver and maker. After completing a Bachelor of Design at Massey University, his path has been a winding one, but he has always been drawn to critical design thinking where function and beauty meet. He particularly enjoys the iterative creative process, watching an idea evolve from sketch to reality. He joins Reformation Studios to help designers and artists bring their bold visions to life, manufactured locally within a fully circular system.
