KAYLA BACON
n celebration of the Pattern and Decoration art movement, Kayla Bacon’s work is deliberately decorative. Taking influence by the light-hearted and funky qualities of 1970s wallpaper design, and disregarding the dominance of modernism by embracing work that traditionally would be identified as feminine, ornamental, or craft-based.
Deepening her inquiry into geometric abstraction, her work plays with form, colour and illusion. Combining digital and analogue practices, she creates 3D wall-hanging sculptures that manipulate perception and produce senses of movement.
