JEANNINE FRIEDRICH
Jeannine Friedrich creates abstract acrylic paintings that do not reveal themselves all at once, inviting the viewer to look again, then closer. Her work is built through layers of colour and texture, with marks, overpainting and hidden fragments allowed to stay and speak. Words and text have long been part of her visual world, and this year she is exploring them more deliberately as part of the painting itself.
For Jeannine, the process matters more than the finished piece. A work may look complete, but it is only done when she stops painting on it. She is often just around the corner with a big brush, ready to undo, disrupt and rebuild. Her paintings are driven by energy, movement and colour and yes, glitter is allowed.
