Vanessa works primarily with Acrylics, bringing to life an awareness that we are the natural environment and the environment is us. Drawing on the natural forces, structures, and multi dimensional elements of both the human and more-than-human world, Vanessa explores the dynamic relationship between painting, dance, movement & meditation. A lifetime of dance & immersion in the natural world has shaped her artistic expression, informing both her painting and her sense of presence in the world.
Now, in this new era of her creative body of work, she draws inspiration from the body & ecology, creating large-scale paintings & drawings that echo the communication between inner and outer worlds.
