Roger grew up on a farm in the King Country where they were always making and creating stuff. This carried over into a furniture making apprenticeship. Completing that he spent several years working in Australia making furniture for Yallingup Galleries near Margaret River WA in the heart of wine and wave country. Back in NZ Roger worked fitting out super yachts, but after 10 years in the city and with a young family decided to move to Raglan. 12 years later he and his family are still here and still creating.

Roger has been making custom made furniture for over 25 years. Through his work he aims to pay homage to the tree by bringing out the very best in the wood he’s working with. From the cradle to the coffin we use wood in all aspects of our lives and it’s this versatility and variation in timber alongside crafting ideas into reality that drives Roger’s practice.
